I have always wanted to produce a porn movie, call me strange, but how was I to find models for my porn movies? It is not as easy as placing an ad in a classified.  Many places I thought I could find talent proved to be dead ends.  I started off with a list to find my models.

Local porn companies can provide a good source of experience actors who may be interested in working on your movie.  These are often much cheaper than going through a talent agency.

Ask friends, colleagues, or other filmmakers for referrals to actors and actresses they have worked with in the past.

Holding open auditions can attract a large pool of talent and provide you with the opportunity to see a variety of actors and actresses.

Cost of Filming and Models

The cost surprised me with an actress earning on average $1,300 (USD) for a scene with a man and $895 for a scene with another woman.

Some actresses do scenes for as little as $400.  Top porn stars can earn up to $10,000.  So with a budget alocated for talent I devised ways and means to make my production costs lower.  Making a professional movie on a tight budget is a challenging task.  But it can be done with careful planning and creativity.

So after all of the prep was done and the filming completed where was I going to distribute my film? Or was I just going to release it online?  It was much more difficult than first anticipated as no-one wanted to deal with a one movie wonder.  There are so many established companies there who had libraries of films to sell.  These eventually were the options that I had available to me.

Reach out to local theaters and venues to see if they would be interested in screening your film.

Like universities and libraries may be interested in screening your film for educational purposes.

My mistake was not looking where I was going to distribute and monetize my porn film.  So, my advice to anyone is to get this secured first and foremost. I now have a completed porn movie in my collection that I filmed and paid for. But so far it has not made me a cent.
